Where did you get the screaming baby pic/Who is that screaming baby? |
 |
That angry youth is none other than myself at 11 months of age. I used to hate going down for a nap (What a foolish child I was not to realize the importance of sleep!) and would scream and violently rock my crib back and forth in protest. My mom decided to take a picture of my tantrum one day and thus history was made.

What is Fuckwittage? |
 |
Helen Fielding coined the term "Emotional Fuckwittage" in her best selling novel Bridget Jones Diary. Often abbreviated as simply "Fuckwittage," this term is used to describe (and very accurately too) the immature behaviors and attitudes of men, such as commitment phobia and infidelity. Fuckwittage has also taken on the role of defining general immature annoying behaviors in people, though it is still regarded as applying first and foremost to men in relationships. Consequently, it is one of my FAVORITE terms.

Why give such elaborate descriptions of your interests? |
 |
I find that when I visit someone's personal page and look at their interests I like to have some idea of what those interests are exactly. And since 9 out of 10 times, their interests are different from mine I find that I have no frame of reference when I read the name of their favorite musician or TV show. So I decided to go a step further and provide descriptions, pictures, and official web links whenever possible. This not only gives the viewer a frame of reference, but also promotes knowledge and further exploration of a particular interest.

What are Otaku? |
 |
The word "otaku" is Japanese for "fan(s)," but generally has a negative connotation as the type of fans it refers to tend to be the very weird, obsessed type. While it applies to fans in general, in America it has become synonymous with Anime fans, particularly very dedicated Anime fans (such as myself ).
"Otaku" has NOTHING to do with being Gay. Just because I'm a Gay Otaku doesn't mean that all Otaku are Gay. Otaku is and always has been a non-gender, non-sexual orientated term. ANYONE who has an obsessive enough drive can be or become an Otaku.

What is an OVA and how is it different from a Movie? |
 |
An OVA is the term used in Anime to describe an animated direct-to-video release. The word itself is an abbreviation of the full term for this type of release, Original Video Animation. There is also a variation of the term spelled OAV, for Original Animation Video. However, in Japan and America OVA is generally regarded as the correct and standard form.
There are a few elements that make an OVA different from a Movie.
- An OVA is released directly to video stores for retail sale and distribution, whereas a Movie is played in the theaters before being released for retail sale and distribution.
- A Movie also tends to have a deeper graphic resolution than an OVA because it is made to be viewed on a large theater screen. However, OVAs are shot in a millimeter of film similar to a Movie and therefore can be blown up without much loss in image quality.
- OVAs range in length. They are generally anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours in running time. Movies tend to be an hour and a half to 2 hours in length.
- OVAs tend to be used to tell a story in a "mini-series" format, whereas Movies are generally single entities, occasionally followed by sequels made in TV, Movie, or OVA formats.

What are Fan Subs and Fan Subbing Groups? |
 |
Fan subs are copies of Anime videos that have been subtitled by small non-profit groups of fans. The titles released by fan subbers are always commercially unavailable in the United States. There has been much debate over the years about the legality of fan subs. There is an important difference between fan subbers and bootleggers. Bootleggers produce low quality reproductions of films and charging a high price for them so that they can make a profit. Fan subbers try to produce as high a quality as possible reproduction of a film and distribute it freely. The only fee they charge is the cost for the distribution medium such a blank VHS tape or a blank DVD-ROM. Fan subbers also stop distributing a title once it becomes commercially available, whereas bootleggers will continue to distribute a title regardless of its licensed status.

The word "bishonen" is Japanese for very beautiful, often effeminate, men. The word itself literally means "Beautiful Boy(s)." Bishonen are commonly associated as being Homosexual in Anime and Manga, and 99% of all Gay males portrayed in Anime and Manga are drawn in a bishonen style. Bishonen are also used heavily in Shojo Manga ("Girls Manga") as the male love interests and supporting male characters. In Shojo Manga bishonen are often Heterosexual despite their very beautiful feminine appearance and behavior. There are however, a fair amount of Homosexual bishonen in Shojo Manga too.
