Snow Shoes
It's snowing here. I mean really snowing. This is the second snowfall off the year for us, which is unusual but not unheard of. The weather patterns here are all messed up because of all the over-development and pollution. I remember when I was a kid we had 6 regular snow falls a year and they were big snow falls, we're talking close to a foot per storm. But alas those days are long done, well except tonight that is. We're having a record-breaking snowfall for the area, they are calling for a foot or more of snow. Usually we get 6 inches at most and the majority of it turns to ice within a day which is far worse.
So anyway it's snowing like crazy out and even crazier still is the fact that I just came back from shoe shopping. Yes, I went shoe shopping in a blizzard. Am I crazy? Probably. Do I care? Not really. Besides had it truly been very dangerous I wouldn't have ventured out, but seeing as how it didn't get that bad until close to the time I got home I wasn't concerned. Please if people farther north, like New York and Canada can trudge out in 3 feet of snow there is no reason why I can't trudge out in 6 inches of it. People in this area panic so easily over inclement weather.
It may sound crazy to you but in actually shopping in a snow storm is actually a very good thing. Reduced visibility and slightly hazardous conditions aside, shopping during a snowstorm is THE perfect time to go shopping. Usually the stores are all still open, where as after the storm things tend to shut down, and because everyone is terrified of getting stuck out on the road the shops and malls are empty! Yes, empty! At what other time, other than 8 AM on a Sunday morning, can you go to the mall and find it completely deserted? Exactly! It's wonderful!
I hate shoe shopping to begin with and hate crowds in stores and malls even more. So this was perfect. The sales people were so bored out of their minds that they were actually more courteous to me because they were grateful to have the company and patronage. By shopping during a snowstorm I actually helped the economy, since most shoppers stayed at home along with their money. See there is social good to be done if you know where to look for it. There are also cute shoes to be bought if you know where to look for them. God I'm such a fag...
So yeah that was my shoe shopping expedition. I was able to exchange one defective pair of dress shoes and also pick up a pair of cute dressy but casual black shoes. So I am happy, the economy is still afloat, and my feet have cute housing for my upcoming trip to New York City this weekend. As all good Buddhists' believe, of which I am one of them, there is a reason for everything and the way situations unfold and present themselves.
Your Rants & Comments
You never cease to get my attention with your writings. LMFAO! I love it! By the way, the economy thanks you for your part...that greedy, greedy bitch...lol, j/k.
