Republican? Go Away!!
The local VA elections are coming up next week. Next Tuesday to be exact. So all the local politicians are in a scramble to get last minute votes.
Well this particular morning I was running late for work. I drove to the Metro and was dashing towards the entrance of the station when this old politician who was almost bald and wearing coke-bottle glasses stops to greet me. He was wearing a bright red sticker with his name on it and I could tell right away what he wanted, and seeing as how I was in a hurry my mind just raced along. I saw that red stickler and though red state which made me think Republicans which caused me to snap instantly, "Are you a Republican?!? Go away!!" And then I bolted away.
The woman handing out the free Express newspapers laughed and said, "I can't believe you just said that!" (second time in two days someone has said that to me) I took my paper and smiling (she's a nice lady, she is always there in the morning handing out papers and I like her a lot) said, "Honey, if he's a Republican I don't want him!" She laughed some more and then I dashed off to my train and bade her a good morning. There were some uptight looking conservative types also entering the station who didn't find my comment funny.
Too damn bad! These God damned republicans have fucked up the government enough as it is. We don't need any more of them in office!
Though I will admit later I found out that this politician was from the independent party (oops!). It's all good though. I'd like to think that at the end of the day he sat back and laughed his ass off about how much the Republican vampires are hated by today's youth.
